Pianist Orli Shaham’s Season in Photos
Part 1

May 16, 2025

As pianist Orli Shaham’s 2024-25 season comes to a close and she starts to prepare for performances across the U.S. at music festivals this summer, we’re looking back on this fantastic season in pictures.
Beethoven Triple
Gil and Orli

Earlier this spring, Orli reunited with her brother, violinist Gil Shaham, for a series of recitals including performances in Madison, Wisconsin, and across Southern California. Gil and Orli also performed together with the Madison Symphony Orchestra and cellist Sterling Elliot, playing Beethoven’s Triple Concerto in January.

Shaham returned to Pacific Symphony throughout the season where she was in her 17th season as curator, host, and pianist of the Cafe Ludwig chamber music series. Here’s a clip of her rehearsing Reena Esmails’ “The Light Is the Same” for the season finale with oboist Jessica Pearlman and flutist Ben Smolen.

Pacific Symphony Recording

Speaking of Cafe Ludwig, Orli and musicians from Pacific Symphony recorded an album! “American Tapestry” features half a dozen newly commissioned works by American composers and was produced by the amazing Grammy-nominated producer Erica Brenner, who also produced Orli’s recordings of Mozart piano sonatas. Look out for more details later this year!

In other Mozart related news, Orli performed his Piano Concerto No. 20 at various symphonies across the U.S., including Utah Symphony. Pictured: view of the gorgeous landscape from the airplane, and the entire piano department of USU Logan (!).

Dumbarton Oaks

In November, Orli joined cellist Eric Jacobsen and violinist Grace Park for two evenings of chamber music at the historic Dumbarton Oaks in Washington, D.C. The program was inspired by performances at the Potsdam Conference during the summer of 1945 which included works by Schubert, Chopin, Kreisler, and Messiaen. It was said that music was the only thing that Truman, Churchill, and Stalin could agree upon at that time.
